Possessions will be kept so long as a character was touching them. Say, if they had them in a backpack then they would come with them and would be waiting on the table next to them when they came to.

Animal companions will not be given upon arrival. However, they may ask the Caretakers later on and may be granted one if they've proven themselves a capable survivor.
