	_________rules to abide by. NO GOD-MODDING, META-GAMING OR POWERTRIPPING. You've heard it all by now. This is the rule you learn right out the gates, but let's make it official. Do not control another person's character without their permission. Do not take take information that you know oocly and run with it ICly. Your character is not you, the information they learn must be learned through interaction with other characters. It makes for difficult threading and boring CR! In this vein, please keep OOC interactions from bleeding into IC, and vice versa. Finally, power-tripping. This is a game where characters have been largely depowered and are forced to survive in a hostile environment. Your character is not an exception, they cannot suddenly find a wellspring of strength and destroy an entire horde with one arm tied behind their back. Your characters probably will be hurt and will not have an easy ride. OOC CONFLICT & WANK. Respecting your fellow players will usually get you respect in turn. In the ideal RP, everyone would get along and there would be no player to player conflicts. Unfortunately, this just isn't possible. People are going to fight. We hope that the majority of the conflicts we will see are able to be resolved between players and do not escalate. That said, as mods, it's our job to try to create and maintain an environment people feel comfortable playing in and one of the biggest concerns we must address is how we plan to handle wank. Complaints, concerns, and discussion about the game itself are expected and inevitable. We are welcome to feedback and encourage it. We will work to improve when issues are brought up, and if it is not something that we can change then we will do our best to explain our positioning to you. It is our first time modding and there will most certainly be bumps along the road, so your feedback is an invaluable asset, whether logged in or anonymous. Both are enabled on the Feedback post and we do hope that people make use of that as that is the best way to guarantee that we will see it. However, when it comes to issues regarding other players we cannot operate on hearsay and rumors. It's no secret that people can clash, make each other uncomfortable, and overstep boundaries. These things can make playing difficult and there are times when conflict cannot be resolved though conversation and must be taken care of by another means, such as involving another party whether directly or indirectly. We ask that you contact us directly should such problems arise. We cannot pass judgment based on what is said on anon communities in situations like this. We can never be sure who is saying what, how valid the information presented is, and whether there is an ulterior motive such as a grudge. If you are concerned about your identity, it will not be exposed and your concerns will remain confidential no matter what course of action we take. We can be contacted through email, PM, AIM, or even plurk if need be, and we will listen and do our best to assist with any concerns brought forward. ACTIVITY. Activity checks are monthly. We require two of the following! 1 post. As long as you have responded to the comments within the entry and have not dropped it completely after posting, we will accept this! 15 comments. We will accept up to 3 links for this. 1 log thread. We require at a minimum of 3 comments from you for this to count. We are lienient and if circumstances arise that prevent you from meeting the AC, then please do speak with one of us and we will grant you a grace period. However, we do keep track of activity. If we notice a pattern in which a player continues to skirt around AC requirements with the bare minimum then we do reserve the right to request more. Players who are on hiatus are exempt. Players who fail the AC without contacting the mods or fail to respond when not on hiatus will be removed from the game. HIATUS. Players are free to take a hiatus if they feel the need to. Sometimes, things just get too hectic to RP. You might not be feeling a character, you may need to canon review, or just need a break from the game. We allow hiatuses up to two weeks long to be called without contacting a mod. However! If a hiatus is going to go beyond this length, we do need you to speak to one of us and give us a heads up. Please reply to your comment on the hiatus post once you've come off hiatus! STAYING IN CHARACTER. Characters do grow and develop and so this is always a tricky rule to place. Stay as ICly as you possibly can and bear canon personality and reactions to things in mind as they react to the world around them. Dead Weight does have a mandatory bi-monthly HMD. If you have a problem with someone's characterization, please try to leave well thought out crit to steer them back on the right path. If problems are dire and persist, come to us. APPLICABLE CHARACTERS. Characters that have a canon source may be applied for. This includes animated series, graphic novels, live-action, video games, and webcomics of both Western and Eastern origin. We will not be allowing Fandom OCs or Fandom AUs into the game. OCs from original universes are currently not allowed, but may be in the future. Canon AUs are permitted. See out FAQ for more detail on that. With webcomics there are some restrictions. Applying for a character from Powerpuff Girls Doujinshi, for example, would not be permitted. AGE. Given the nature of the game, players must be at least 16 years of age.
